Hi, I’m Diep-Anh! I’m excited to share why the low fat/low calorie diet is making you sick. Trust me, I feel your frustration and pain of feeling hungry all the time while trying to manage your weight by reducing your caloric intake. As a mother of 2 boys, I gained over 40 pounds with each pregnancy. I was never told to lose weight, so I took the liberty of “eating for two” and I did! I was so large I earned the nickname “Beach Whale”. Mind you I’m only 4 feet and 9 inches tall and each boy was 6 pounds at birth and I was the heaviest I’ve ever been. Now you get the picture? 😃

Struggling to get back to my 95 pound self, I diligently applied everything I was taught in Pharmacy school, read in articles and saw on TV about low fat/low calorie diet but couldn’t shed the weight. I went vegan, eliminated meat and fat in hopes to shed the pounds … again, NO results. I was literally starving myself. The mere smell of food made me gain weight! We’ve all heard of caloric deficit….the energy-in has to be less than energy-out to loss weight, right? Ok, time to hit the gym. To my astonishment I gained even more weight around the waist and I was told that It was muscles, WHAT? I took a long hard look in the mirror and decided to accept, I can’t change genetics. I’m my mother’s daughter. Short and heavy around the waist and buttock. Then one day, I discovered the untold truth and I haven’t looked back!! I’m 53 years old and back to my pre-pregnancy weight! It’s not about genetics or fate…..It’s all about FOOD!!

I’m a pharmacist and a certified diabetes educator. I’ve worked with pre-diabetics, diabetics and overweight patients for 5 years to help them manage their disease state through motivation and support. I love to share recipes and tips on eating clean as well as educating how processed foods are harmful to our bodies. Through my love of food and desire to live a healthier life without medications, I want to help you achieve your goal for a healthier life and be able to sustain this WAY of life for years to come and not feel deprived.

A FEW RANDOM FACTS ABOUT ME.
I’m one of the refugees in 1975 and my first English word was “shut up” that I’d learned from watching TV as a kid in New Orleans. I didn’t know the impact of word until I said it to my family sponsor. I couldn’t sit on my butt for days. (Sad face)
“Mighty Mouse” is my gym nickname.
I like my food to bite back when I eat. I have habanero with every meal.
